COMPAREX Case Study: NaXex Technological Development

When COMPAREX first began working with NaXex, the latter was using on-premises Microsoft solutions. Many of NaXex’s remote staff members were working on disparate IT systems with complex centralized workstation management. It had become increasingly difficult for the IT department to troubleshoot and resolve issues with workstations, e-mail, and productivity tools; doing so required multiple plugins and synchronizing services.

NaXex’s goal was to gain better control of the situation through an integrated IT system. In order to meet the company’s complex business requirements and minimize the administrative workload (consisting of tasks such as updates, patch management, and backups), NaXex decided to make Microsoft Office 365 its main collaboration platform. Moreover, NaXex had to incur minimal downtime during the e-mail migration of 1,050 users to Exchange Online, a fact which COMPAREX had to take into account.

COMPAREX performed a seamless full migration to Microsoft Office 365, establishing it as NaXex’s central communication and collaboration platform. This involved setting up a highly available ADSF farm with Web application proxy (WAP) servers for single sign-on as well as an Exchange hybrid solution to facilitate the migration of Exchange inboxes between on-premises servers and Exchange Online.

NaXex staff now use Skype for Business Online, OneDrive and SharePoint Online, which heighten security and promote greater collaboration among employees. COMPAREX fully supported NaXex in planning and implementing the transition to Microsoft Office 365.

Using Microsoft Office 365 as a ‘modern workplace’ solution allows NaXex to enjoy a single platform, the right tools and an integrated infrastructure. This in turn allows NaXex to scale its business as well as to increase security and improve the management of the company’s overall IT infrastructure.
